Heroes Dutch Comic Con

Heroes Dutch Comic Con

Heroes Dutch Comic Con, here we come!

It has been a while since the last time I went to Heroes Dutch Comic Con in Utrecht. Probably around 2017 or 2018. Unfortunately the boyfriend has to work, but I’m going with my best friend, who is as big of a geek as I am, haha.

So this year they’re celebrating their 10 year anniversary and are going bigger and bolder than before. Normally it was only on Saturday and Sunday, but now they even have the Friday night too! The con takes place on the 21’st, 22nd and the 23th of June. I took a quick peek at the event program and map, and it looks amazing! Really want to see all the comic artists there and love to walk through the artist alley. Would be awesome to participate in this huge event one day with my art, but for now I’m stoked to finally go there again as visitor.

I have 2 tasks for the day. The first task is to find a cool mug for the boyfriend. We always took one with us when we both went to the con, but because he couldn’t make it this time he asked me to bring him a cool, new mug. My second task is to meet up with Funkovader. He’s a huge Funko collector. We’ve arranged a nice trade which means I get some Funko pops he doesn’t need anymore. In exchange I have some nice prints for him.

Oh, and something fun. I have made a custom hoodie and shirt with one of my artworks on the front and a QR code on the back. So if you meet me on the con, scan that QR code and it will take you to a page on my website where you can comment where you’ve scanned the code and found me, haha.

Well, I hope to see some cool stuff on the con and hope not to spend too much money, haha. It will be a fun day, will share some video’s and pictures in my Instagram stories, so make sure to check it out on June 22nd!

DutchieArts at Manga Genesis

DutchieArts at Manga Genesis

On February 17th, DutchieArts participated in the very first Manga Genesis event in Emmen, NL. Hosted by our local library, this event aimed to introduce the world of manga and anime to the people of Emmen and the surrounding areas. Given the popularity of manga and anime, it was about time the North of the Netherlands had its own event.

The turnout was impressive, exceeding all expectations and selling out completely. I showcased my new Urban Anime series, printed on brushed aluminium and also framed them. Additionally, I brought along smaller prints, postcards, and buttons, all featuring my original designs. To add to the excitement, I was drawing live at the event, giving visitors a chance to see my skills in action.

A special shoutout to my bestie, Mez Arts, who had the stand right next to mine and was the one to inform me about this fantastic event happening right in my hometown.

My crew and I had a great time connecting with fellow enthusiasts, enjoying the vibrant cosplay contest, and selling more art than I had anticipated. Overall, it was a successful and memorable experience for both myself and the event organizers.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made Manga Genesis such a fantastic event!

Art for a Dutch celebrity

Art for a Dutch celebrity

A while ago me and another artist were approached by Visser Art Gallery to do a collab with Hella Cash to make art for Dutch rapper Josylvio.

Of course we took our chance and we both made an awesome artwork in our own styles. Vincent from the gallery went over to the studio and handed over the 2 artworks and they were very happy with their new art.

Ziza art made an awesome fire extinguisher with the Hella Cash logo and I made an artwork of Scrooge McDuck holding some cash with of course the logo in the background with a lot of dollars in the back. This was printed on aluminium, size 70x70cm.

Very happy with the result and the great responses we had.

Check out some pictures of both artworks here

Collect-a-Con

It’s been a while since I attended Sneakerzone in 2020, but Dutchie Arts will be attending Collect-a-Con’s first edition on December 3th 2022!

I’m really excited to show my stuff at an expo again and meet new people who are also artists, but also sellers of all kinds of collectibles.

Check out their website www.collectacon.nl and get your tickets! But also if you want to show or sell your stuff, check out the site and book your table!

DutchieArts new website

DutchieArts new website

It took a while, but I finally had the energy to revamp my website. It’s hard to design something you really like and although I thought the last design was good, it just didn’t feel right.

There will probably be more updates on my website and changes, but for now it looks good and all the info you need about Dutchie Arts can be found on the website.

Enjoy!
