DutchieArts at Manga Genesis

On February 17th, DutchieArts participated in the very first Manga Genesis event in Emmen, NL. Hosted by our local library, this event aimed to introduce the world of manga and anime to the people of Emmen and the surrounding areas. Given the popularity of manga and anime, it was about time the North of the Netherlands had its own event.

The turnout was impressive, exceeding all expectations and selling out completely. I showcased my new Urban Anime series, printed on brushed aluminium and also framed them. Additionally, I brought along smaller prints, postcards, and buttons, all featuring my original designs. To add to the excitement, I was drawing live at the event, giving visitors a chance to see my skills in action.

A special shoutout to my bestie, Mez Arts, who had the stand right next to mine and was the one to inform me about this fantastic event happening right in my hometown.

My crew and I had a great time connecting with fellow enthusiasts, enjoying the vibrant cosplay contest, and selling more art than I had anticipated. Overall, it was a successful and memorable experience for both myself and the event organizers.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made Manga Genesis such a fantastic event!

It’s been a while since I attended Sneakerzone in 2020, but Dutchie Arts will be attending Collect-a-Con’s first edition on December 3th 2022!

I’m really excited to show my stuff at an expo again and meet new people who are also artists, but also sellers of all kinds of collectibles.

Check out their website www.collectacon.nl and get your tickets! But also if you want to show or sell your stuff, check out the site and book your table!

On September 19th, DutchieArts was part of the first edition of Sneakerzone, an event dedicated to sneakers and sneaker culture. I had the unique opportunity to help organize the event as part of my job, and as a surprise, my supervisor offered me a spot to showcase my art!

Since the opportunity came last minute, I had to quickly decide what to display and how to prepare. This was my first expo, so there was a lot to figure out in a short amount of time.

I decided to bring some of my artworks printed as posters, not necessarily to sell, but just to showcase. I also brought along some merchandise and thought it would be cool to do some live drawing at the event.

Despite my nerves, I had an amazing time. I talked to a lot of people, enjoyed the cool beats at the event, and even had a chat with Dutch Pop artist Brainpower who stopped by my stand.

Check out some pictures of my setup below. Due to Covid-19, we had to wear masks and maintain social distancing. We weren’t sure if the event would happen until the last minute, so I was grateful we could still make it work.

Overall, Sneakerzone was an incredible experience and a fantastic start to my journey in expos.
